On Thursday, the day after the holiday of Shavuot, hundreds of people gathered in the Old CIty of Jerusalem for a reenactment of the Temple service known as bikurim, or the “bringing of the first fruits.” The ceremony included a special thanksgiving offering that sealed the recent Sanhedrin ruling establishing the boundaries of Jerusalem for the Third Temple.

The third and final temple of doom and abomination which causeth desolation.

The procession along the walls of the city to Tekuma Park was accompanied by musical instruments specially made for use in the Third Temple, and blasts from shofarot (ram horns), just as the Talmud described it in Temple times.

The ceremony was performed by Kohanim (men of the priestly caste) dressed in authentic garb as described in the Bible, led by Rabbi Baruch Kahane, who has played a prominent role in many of the Temple reenactments.

In the days of the First Temple, the first fruits of the annual harvest were brought to Jerusalem as an offering between the holidays of Shavuot (Festival of Weeks) and Sukkot (Festival of Booths). The fruits were brought in baskets, beautifully displayed, and given to the priests. For the reenactment, children from all over Israel presented Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, a member of the Sanhedrin, with first fruits they had gathered from their personal gardens.

The fruits were given to the priests after the donor recited a confession, detailed in Deuteronomy 26:1-11, acknowledging God as the one who redeemed the Israelites from the Egyptian bondage, and expressing gratitude to God for bringing them to the Promised Land.

Sheep were presented by the Kohanim, but the actual slaughtering was performed in a different location.

“Bikurim is giving back to God the best from what he gave us: the Land of Israel,” said Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the Sanhedrin, to Breaking Israel News. Rabbi Weiss cited the verse from Deuteronomy, from which it is learned that first fruits may only be brought from the land of Israel; the commandment cannot be performed outside the land.

Bikurim are brought from the seven species which have a special significance to Israel: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olive oil, and dates (honey).

The foreleg and the breast were presented to Rabbi Kahane as a representative of the priesthood. The remainder of the sheep was roasted, as mandated in the Bible.

 The ceremony included bringing thanksgiving offerings of loaves specially prepared for the ceremony. The Sanhedrin has been involved in a study of the borders of Jerusalem, culminating in their official ruling. Just as in the days of the Temple and the original Sanhedrin, they marked this ruling by a thanksgiving offering, designating the borders of greater Jerusalem for the Third Temple era.

“This, coming just after Jerusalem’s Jubilee, was precisely the time to establish greater Jerusalem,” Rabbi Weiss said. “And Shavuot is the holiday that celebrates God giving Israel the Land of Israel.”

The Sanhedrin modelled their ruling after the same action performed by Ezra and Nehemiah, who mapped the boundaries of the city of Jerusalem when they returned to rebuild the Temple in the fifth century BCE.

The borders of greater Jerusalem established by the Sanhedrin reach from southern point designated by Karmei Tzur in Gush Etzion to the south, the city of Ofra in Samaria as the northern point, Jericho as the eastern point, and the city of Beit Shemesh in the West. The Sanhedrin has made several tours of the border, setting up signposts to designate the area.

The rabbi explained that as a holy city and the location of the Temple, the boundaries of Jerusalem have Biblical implications and are not a matter for secular and political authorities to determine.

“These are the borders sanctified for purposes of the Third Temple, within which Jews will be permitted to eat their Paschal sacrifice and any other Temple purposes which may only be performed within the Holy City,” (Spiritual Sodom and Egypt) Rabbi Weiss said, citing the Prophet Zechariah to indicate the ramifications for impinging on the sanctified borders of the city.

Amos 5:21-23(KJV)

22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

“The world is arguing about the history of Jerusalem, when all of that is written in the Bible,” said Rabbi Weiss. “While they try to rewrite the Bible, here in Jerusalem we are bringing the words to life. Precisely as they are written.”

  8. They had gone away to buy meat, they were going about their task of satisfying the fleshly cravings, which to me is interesting. So many times the Lord does come to us, one on one, when we are not expecting it a and we do not recognize Him. He then tests us to be truthful about ourselves, so He can tell us all things about ourselves, shall we worship in Truth? Or believe the lies.
    John 4: 23 – 24 KJV

    23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
    24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

    Jesus did not eat when they came back, He was not after the manner of the flesh , he was very focused on the task of spiritual fulfillment, not after the manner of the flesh in ANY way in John 4.

    Jesus also said we will NOT worship at Jerusalem, this is how you know that is a lie that He should be worshiped there:

    20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
    21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

    Very interesting indeed to reflect on this passage in light of your observations RP, because the Lord brought me back to where I was before, and where we all should be in these last days, not after the things of our flesh, but doing His work;

And verses 23 & 24 of the Psalm, take us back to what the conversation started with, “tell us all things , O Lord about ourselves”. so that I may depend on your for life, and that you may put away the wickedness from me. This is what Jesus did at the well to the woman, He searched her heart and tried her. This is so important to not be counted an enemy of God, His Truth, He imparts, so we may be more like Him. Only He can lead in the way everlasting. Only the King of kings and Lord of lords, only the Begotten.

    Those who do not love the Begotten , those who reject Him as Faithful and True King, cannot love Him that begat, so they are the enemy of God. Because they are ONE, reject Jesus and you reject God and are the hated enemy of God. Woe is all that will come unto you, for everlasting death, in the Lake of Fire.

    Time is so short, run to the King, Jesus the Christ, all who read this and are uncertain if they will go to heaven, He wants to Save You from the wrath to come, in His Perfect Love. How will you stand against an Angry Law in the day of judgment? Without Jesus righteousness, you are condemned, for everlasting.

When the Law came in peace, Sinai was altogether on a smoke, and even Moses said, “I exceeding fear and quake!” What will you do when the Law of God comes in terror, when the trumpet of the archangel shall tear you from your grave, when the eyes of God shall burn their way into your guilty soul, when the great books shall be opened, and all your sin and shame shall be punished? Can you stand against an angry Law in that Day?” – …

    Not without the righteousness of Jesus the Christ, you have no chance, you are the hated enemy. Receive the Lord Jesus Sacrifice on the Cross and His Resurrection from the grave, as the payment for your sin, He did it all, you cannot make God love you more by anything you do in this life. Repent and Be Baptized, for today is the day of Salvation, it is almost too late, but God wills that none perish, there is yet a moment of time left , do not delay, for He does not delay His Coming.

  13. RP – I have been combing samliquidation to find a very clear rendering of the Truth about Zion. I am finding a ton of references everywhere, is there one concise post on this? I am trying to show that Zion is not of the flesh, that it is spiritual and in heaven, using Revelation 14:1 as the most clear reference. Here is what I said:

    2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

    3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

  17. RP- I knew that, it was a stupid mistake, I used online KJV , didn’t use my desk Bible, and i was in a hurry. UGGH! The kingjamesbibleonline.org has it as Zion, unless you switch to 1611, which I should have done. I know Zion and Sion have two different meanings. I will ask this person Who is God? But the persistence of the ” times of the gentiles” argument is the sticking point.

    They will and agreed on the other spiritual references, but deny that Sion is different than Zion. I may be dealing with swine.

    Don’t be ashamed at me, I am highly fallible, but I seek and take correction.

  19. Thanks, jesting is hard to hear from the typed text. 🙂 Anyway, working on two people right now, but will be taking a break soon, it is wearing me down, but I will keep on, as the Lord permits. Do you know which segment deals with the Zion/Sion differences on samliquidation? I read it but now I can’t find it.
